Josh is also of Australian descent because his parents were born and raised in Australia. He is also a citizen of Australia, having been born in Melbourne, Victoria.

Warrick and Kim Giddey are the professional’s parents, and he was born on October 10, 2002. In addition to him, they have three other daughters, Hannah, Neve, and Ella.
Warrick Giddey (born December 16, 1967) is Josh’s father and a former player turned coach. He played for the Illawarra Hawks and Melbourne Tigers in the National Basketball League (NBL). His two NBL titles with the Tigers in 1993 and 1997 were among his career highlights. He is presently the women’s NBL1 South head coach of the Melbourne Tigers.
Josh’s mother, on the other hand, is a major factor. She was a Women’s National Basketball League scorer for the Tigers. His three sisters all enjoy basketball. Hannah (June 12, 2001) attended Oral Roberts University before transferring to Southern Nazarene University. Neve, Josh’s younger sister, also played for the Melbourne Tigers and helped the team win the 2022 U18 Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) Championship.
