General Hospital Spoilers: Kary Musa Cast as Sonny’s New Love Interest – Carly Jealous Over Younger Woman
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is moving on from Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and he’ll meet his new love interest on May 2. Casting news says Kary Musa, a Columbian beauty, has been cast as the new lady in Sonny’s life. The casting call scripts named her Martina, but her name could be something different when she wanders onto Sonny’s radar week after next.
Kary Musa is a gorgeous brunette which fits in with Sonny’s more exotic taste and she looks similar to his past General Hospital love interests both Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) and Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero). Musa is Columbian and is both a musician and actress. Interestingly, the actress went to both music school and law school so she should understand the lingo when she appears as a lady lawyer in Port Charles in early May.
Kary was a finalist on a Columbian musical competition show called Popstars from Caracol. From there, she relocated to Miami where she worked as a model and musician singing in big name private clubs in Miami. That led to work for Telemundo, Venevision and Mun2. Kary’s first big break in the movies came with a speaking role in Iron Man 3 and now she’s landed on General Hospital.
Back in February, General Hospital posted a casting call and the script for the reading leaked on Twitter. Martina is a lawyer but that’s not how she runs into Sonny. Martina is at The Haunted Star where Sonny is drinking to let off some steam related to his recent split with Carly and her anger at him over him having Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) deported. Sonny’s revenge has everyone angry.
With Sonny pouting at Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) establishment on the water, he accidentally spills a drink on Martina. That leads to them talking and within minutes, Sonny has the beautiful lawyer in a steamy lip lock. The twist is she has no idea that it’s mob boss Sonny Corinthos she’s kissing. Sonny told her to call him “Michael” which, to be fair, is his legal name.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Martina is wowed by the handsome man she met by chance but then things take a darker turn when she finds out she was macking on the top local mob man and is worried it will impact her career as a legal eagle. The main scene from the audition has Martina confronting Sonny at the courthouse about lying to her about who he was. Sonny insists he told her his real name but he’s toying with her.
Kary Musa shared a photo of herself at Prospect Park Studios, where General Hospital shoots, and tagged it on Instagram saying “Playing a lawyer today and I felt great about it!” You can bet Carly won’t like Sonny hooking up with the young gorgeous lawyer since he gave her such a hard time about Jax. Carly might try and mess with Martina in revenge over Sonny’s shady behavior.
