Cheryl fronts Poppy Legion's two minute silence campaign
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has fronted a campaign by the Poppy Legion to encourage the whole of the UK to come together for a two minute silence on November 11th to mark Armistice Day and remember the fallen.
The poignant video see’s Cheryl and a host of other stars including Olly Murs, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw holding a poppy to their lips in silence.
The Royal British Legion released the video after a survey revealed that 38% of the population will not be taking part in the two minute silence and only 51% of 18-25 year old’s plan to observe the silence.
Other names to appear in the clip include Alesha Dixon and Lord Alan Sugar.

Back in 1919 King George V introduced the concept of the two minute silence saying: “At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, there may be a brief space of two minutes, a complete suspension of all our normal activities”.
Speaking about the two minute silence The Rt Revd Nigel McCulloch, National Chaplain to The Royal British Legion, said: “Modern life is lived at an incredibly fast place”.
“But it is hugely important that people find the time to remember and respect those that have sacrificed – and continue to make sacrifice – in the service of our country.”
